Privacy Policy
MegLogTrip (“Service Provider") handles user information, which includes personal information, in the provision of the service provider's service (“Service") in accordance with the service provider’s Privacy Policy (“Policy") as follows:
Article 1. Collected User Information and the Collection Methods Thereto
1-1. In this Policy, "User Information" refers to user identification information gathered and accumulated through such user’s interactions with the Service via their internet-connected devices, such as smartphones and computers. The User Information that the service provider gathers through the Service and the means of collection thereof are as follows.
(1) Information that users provide the service provider with includes:

Full name;

Phone number;

E-mail address
-
Companion information; and
-
Other information customers fill in on the provided form
(2) When users provide their consent to do so, outside services may provide User Information, pertaining to such user, to the service provider for use in the Service. If the user provides consent to outside services, e.g. social networking services, to share such information, such outside services may provide the service provider with the following information:
- The user’s visitor ID for the outside service; and
- Other information that the user consents to the outside service to disclose via their privacy settings.
(3) When a user accesses the Service via their internet-connected devices, the service provider may also collect the following information about a user’s access to and usage of the Service:
- Internet-connected device information;
- Access log information;
- Cookie and anonymity ID; and
- GPS location information.
Article 2. Purposes of Use
2-1. The definite purposes of usage of User Information for this Service are as follows:
(1) For offering this service and the maintenance, protection and improvement thereof;
(2) For responding to requests for guidance and inquiries about this service;
(3) For complying with appropriate procedures taken in response to acts that violate this Policy or any terms thereto;
(4) For notifying users to changes in the terms of usage of this service;
(5) The user supplies User Information when making reservations for transportation, restaurants, accommodations, art museums, museums, movie theatres, temples, or other trip-related services (collectively, "Trip-Related Services"), and this Service provides such user information pertaining to the Trip-Related Services to a third-party provider of such services (the “Trip-Related Services Provider”); and
(6) For purposes associated with the usage purposes mentioned above.
2-2. Additional uses of User Information other than those mentioned in 2-1 are as follows:
(1) To create standardized, machine-readable statistical data in a format that does not identify any individuals, such data which includes the following:
- Internet-connected device information;
- Access log information;
- Cookie and anonymity ID; and
- GPS location information.
(2) To create data used by a third party or the service provider for indication or advertisement delivery, such data which includes the following:
-Internet-connected device information;
-Access log information;
-Cookie and anonymity ID;
-GPS location information; and
-E-mail address.
(3) To store data for use in other marketing activities, such data which includes the following:
-Full name; and
-E-mail address;
2-3. User Information may be used for purposes other than those outlined in the above Articles 2-1 and 2-2.
Article 3. User Consent to Information Acquisition and Revocation Thereof
3-1. The user may request that the service provider stop provision in-part or in-full of services to the user by changing the predetermined settings of the service, and upon receipt of such request, the service provider shall immediately comply. In addition, although it shall depend on the nature of the specific User Information collected, the service provider will stop collecting information only when the user stops using the service via the service provider's appointed stoppage methods, as collecting information is a basic requirement for using the Services.
Article 4. Provision of Information to Third-Parties
4-1. The service provider will not provide to any third-party any personal information contained in the User Information without obtaining the user’s consent, unless disclosure of personal information is required by personal information protection laws or other relevant laws; provided, however, that this provision does not apply in the following cases:
(1) When the service provider finds that there is a necessity to provide a part or all of a user’s personal information in order to achieve usage purposes;
(2) When personal information is offered with the succession of a business by merger or other reasons;
(3) When personal information is offered to an intelligence module provider;
(4) When it is necessary to provide personal information in cooperation with a third-party for purposes of working with a country or local public entity or trust, and obtaining the user's consent thereto may disadvantage the service provider;
(5) When the service provider receives correspondence as to a user’s acts that violate the established terms of use, and a judgment is made that such user has reasonably disadvantaged the service provider or the third party;
(6) When providing personal information is necessary for the promotion of sanitary improvement or the healthy upbringing of individuals (kids in particular) and it is difficult to gain consent of the user prior; and
(7) When such disclosure is acceptable through personal information protection laws and other legal cases.
Article 5. Disclaimer of Provision of Information to Third Parties
5-1. The service provider will not take any responsibility over the acquisition of users’ personal information by a third party in the following cases:
(1) When the user provides personal information relevant for the Trip-Related Services Provider to provide their services to the user (please contact the Trip-Related Services Provider directly for information as to their handling of personal information);
(2) When the user uses the Service's function or any other similar functions to clearly provide personal information to third parties themselves;
(3) When a user offers their personal information to another site that they were linked to through the Service; and
(4) When outside parties obtain information that distinguishes the individual users.
Article 6. Disclosure of Personal Information
6-1. When a user makes a request for disclosure of personal information based on applicable personal information protection laws, the service provider will, without delay, disclose such information to the user after verifying that such request was indeed made by the user (if the personal information asked for does not exist, the user will be notified to such effect).However, if the service provider is not obligated to disclose the information under applicable personal information protection laws or other laws and ordinances, such request will not be complied with.
Please send requests for disclosure of personal information via post mail and send such requests to the following address. A fee of JPY 1000 per request will be charged to the user requesting disclosure.

Article 7. Correction or Suspension of Personal Information
7-1. If the service provider receives a request by a user to correct or suspend usage of Personal Information, the service provider will without delay conduct an investigation into such information upon verifying that the request was indeed made by the user. Depending on the results of such investigation, the service provider may correct the personal information or suspend the usage thereof. .When rational reasons for correction or suspension are not found, the requesting user may be notified to such effect. The service provider will correct or suspend the use of personal information in the following circumstances:
(1) When provided personal information is false and correction is required; or
(2) When suspension is required based on applicable personal information protection laws, such as cases in which such personal information is used beyond the purposes of use outlined or the information is gathered in an inappropriate manner.
7-2 If a user requests the service provider to delete some or all of the personal information pertaining to such user, or if the service provider has a need to delete such information, the service provider will remove such information after confirming such request was actually made by the user and will notify the user about the removal thereof.
7-3 Users are responsible for ensuring that their personal information is up to date.
Article 8. Management of Personal Information
8-1. The service provider works toward enforcement of appropriate security measures to prevent loss, misuse or modification of personal information. Personal information is kept in a safe environment that general users do not have access to; however, the service provider asks for users’ understanding that there is no foolproof method to safely manage users’ personal information.

Article 10. Use of Cookies
The service provider uses Google Analytics to monitor the use of this site. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect access information on this site without identifying users personally. The manner in which access information is collected and used is set forth in the Google Analytics Terms of Service and GOOGLE PRIVACY POLICY. Further, GOOGLE PRIVACY POLICY also see "HOW GOOGLE USES INFORMATION FROM SITES OR APPS THAT USE OUR SERVICES" for more information on how data is collected and processed by Google Analytics.
Article 11. Management of Privacy Policy
11-1. The service provider will review its operative situation and handling of User Information as is appropriate, and shall make continuous improvements and changes when necessary. When changes are made, users shall be notified through postings on the service provider's website.
However, in the event that changes to the contents of this Policy require the user's consent by law, the service provider shall obtain the user's consent through the service provider's predetermined methods.
